The Tactical Flying Training Center is a fixed base operation, designed to fulfill key portions of Tactical Flight Officer (TFO) standardized training and certification.

Travel & access
One of the key advantages of training at CLD is logistics: students can arrive commercially or privately and move directly into training with minimal ground transportation. This is especially valuable for agencies coordinating travel, per diem, and limited time away from duty.
- Commercial flights: American Airlines currently operates service to Phoenix (PHX). United Airlines is scheduled to launch service to Denver (DEN) and San Francisco (SFO) starting March 30, 2026.
- Private aviation: transient parking and services are available (consult A/FD for current details).
- Walkable footprint: terminal → training → lodging → dining with no rental car required.
