Built for experienced Tactical Flight Officers ready to move beyond foundational tactics, this intermediate-level program emphasizes night operations, infrared sensor mastery, contingency planning, and enhanced airborne search tactics. The course is designed to sharpen decision-making, improve mission coordination, and prepare operators for more advanced real-world deployments.

  • Improved infrared sensor employment and target interpretation.
  • Contingency planning for dynamic incidents and changing mission conditions.
  • Enhanced airborne search tactics for experienced operators working complex events.
  • Progression toward recurrent tactical training and the next phase of operational proficiency.

After building approximately 100 hours of flight experience, operators may progress to Level 2. This course emphasizes night operations, infrared sensor employment, contingency planning, and advanced search techniques—directly supporting the 16-hour night phase and recurrent tactical training requirements.

Sample Course Flow:

  • Day 1: Course briefing, advanced classroom instruction, scenario discussion, and tactical planning concepts.
  • Day 2: Continued advanced instruction focused on night operations, IR sensor employment, search problem-solving, and operational integration.
